He was predeceased by: his parents, George Petersen and Enola Petersen (Hoecke); his brother-in-law Dennis Runke; and also, Elmer and Gladys Berwald.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his children, Shelly of Willmar, MN, Debra (Jesse Robertson) of St. Bonifacius, MN and Paul (Lindsay) of Maple Grove, MN.; his grandchildren, Nicole, Sara Robertson, Nathan and Hailey Petersen; and his sisters, Dianne Runke of Buffalo Lake, MN, Bev (Mike Wangerin) and Shirley (Russell Kronbeck). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
