He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Wernimont and Mary Wernimont (Vonnahme); and his niece Julie Tracy. He is survived by: his wife Colleen Wernimont of Montevideo, MN; his children, Mark Wernimont of Blaine, MN, Steve Wernimont of Hutchinson, MN and Mary Jo Hoff (Steve) of Hutchinson, MN; and his siblings, Rita Hinners (Arlo) of Waukee, IA and Ted Wernimont (Sandy) of Winona, MN. He is also survived by 7 Grandchildren; 10 Great-grandchildren, Many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the St. Anastasia Catholic Church (460 Lake St SW, Hutchinson, MN 55350). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
