He is survived by: his children, Camelia Sturm (Mark) of St. James, Rodney Newman (Brenda) of Bloomington, Cynthia Beranek of New Ulm, Christie Newman of Minneapolis and Rickey Newman (Mari) of Waconia; his grandchildren, Matthew Sturm (Alison), Aaron Sturm (Maggie), Ryan Sturm (Chelsie), Nathan Newman (Anna), Megan Newman Heiden (Jared), Melissa Puhrmann (Dustin), Christopher Beranek (Amanda), Kari Steele (Jason), Karen Barsness (Eric), Roxann Klein (Josh), Perry Beranek (Jessie), Gary Beranek (Kara), Geoffrey Beranek (Lynn), Thom Boik (Kate Black), Luke Schiller (Kylie Parry) and Andrew Newman (Jenny); his great grandchildren, Aria, Kadance, Owen, Ian, Reghan, Bo, Jett, Macie, Marlow, Merrick, Ethan, Jillian, August, Ben, Katelyn, Joe, Connor, Hannah, Kennedy, Caleb, Isaac, Brody, Alaina, Whitney, Lyla, Grayson, Juniper, Indigo, Lark and Bennett; his siblings, Marlis Freeburg, Marion Dring and Milton Newman (Devonna); and his sisters-in-law, Judy Newman, Mary Prindle and Dores Tubandt.
