She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Koivisto and Jenny Koivisto (Popesh); her husband Martin Skala; her granddaughters, Stacy and Stephanie; and her brothers, John and Bob.
She is survived by: her children, Mark Skala (Colleen) and Mary Benson (Donn); her grandchildren, Laura Swartz (Evan), Jesse Benson (Crystal), Amy Beauregard (Stuart), Josh Benson (Sam), Jordan Snyder (Andrew) and Andrew Skala; her great grandchildren, Nicholas, Grace, Elizabeth, Samuel, Jolene, James and Elliette; and her brother Tom Koivisto (Karen). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
