He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Johnson and Blanche Johnson (Blackburn); his former wife Arlene; and his children, Lois and Ronnie.

He is survived by: his wife Gloria Jennings Johnson; his sons, Randy and Jimmy Johnson; and his stepdaughter Denise. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, and 2 sisters and 1 brother.
