We are sad to announce that on June 16, 2019, at the age of 96, Margaret Alstad (Howard Lake, Minnesota) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her father Emil Schleif; her husband Charles Donald Alstad; and her daughters, Charlotte Ann Shand and Joan Margaret McCue. She is survived by: her adoptive son Robert Alstad; and her great grandchildren, Hudson Palmer Clark and Ryder Charles Alstad. She is also survived by husband and two daughters.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Matthews Help Center, 119 N. Ames St., Charlotte, NC, 28105.

“My grandmother although I wasn't mentioned. I'm Robert's eldest daughter Brandi reyes (alstad) I remember playing in my grandma's quilting room as a child and her teaching me how to sew buttons on to scrap fabric. Although I was estranged from her and the rest of the family at a young age for reasons beyond my control, I never forgot them and I hope they never forgot me either.”
