He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Gilmer and Marjorie Gilmer (Staples); and his siblings, Jerry Gilmer, Jay Gilmer, Bruce Gilmer and Kay Gerber (Gilmer).
He is survived by: his wife Janet Peterson; his son Preston Gilmer (Annette Gilmer) of Delano; his grandsons, Dylan and Cole Gilmer of Delano; and also Patricia Salmela. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
