It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Niel Christensen of Houston, Minnesota, born in Harlan, Iowa, who passed away on April 24, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Christensen and Anna Christensen (Nielsen); his grandsons, Adam and Clynton Christensen; his sister Judi; his brother-in-law Roger Alexander; his brother Lynn; and his siblings-in-law, Marjorie Howell, Larry and Louree Petersen.
He is survived by: his wife Janelle Rose Curtis; his children, Debbie Coffman (Jack), Cynthie Christensen, Kent (Eileen), Tony (Becky), Alan (Karen), Cokie Nelson (Chris), Joni Mehus (Bryan), Wendi Kuehner (David), Gwen Nelson (Tim), Niel (Julie), Nathan (Laura), Lynda McNamer (Jay) and Stephanie McNamer (Jesse); his grandchildren, Bryan (Joni), Aaron, Kerri (Josh), Kristin (Clark), Jace, Marie (Fred), Nina (Kerry), Sandi, Erin (Matt), Hali (Cale), Lucas (Jessica), April (Brent), Shawn (Grace), Raychel (Pete), Maria (Kirby), Karalee, Cade, Chas, Chance (Abbi), Ryan (Kayla), Richell (Rocky), Randi (Justin), Christian, Saerina (Greg), Benjamin, Elizabeth, Alaina, Craig (Rachel), Melinda, Nicole (Brad), Logan, Kyle, Jaden, Cody (Natalie), Gage (Matia), Brynn (Scott), Tony, Bailey (Ellen), Dustin (Mackenzie), Sierra (Phil) and Jordan (Ashley); his brothers, Ronnie (Barb), Gary (Janice) and Randy (Elizabeth); and his sister-in-law Peggy Christensen. He is also survived by 41 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family to be used to plant trees in Niel's memory.
