He was predeceased by: his parents, Susan and Everett; his brother Bob; and his nephews, Mike and Jake.
He is survived by: his wife Ann; his children, Drake, Brian Kearns (Anna), Kate (Chuck Pumarlo), Kevin Kearns, Brandt (Cat Reith), Tracy Gawboy (John), David (Diana) and Tim (Raya); his grandchildren, April, Lilly, Levi, Charlotte, Noah, Aaron and Olivia; his foster daughters, Mimi, Rahel and Sefanit Debebe; his sister Annie Kuti (Gary); his sister-in-law Charleen; his nieces, Karen and Denise; and his nephew Jim (Gayle).
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 6th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Hopkins Chapel (1400 Mainstreet, Hopkins, MN 55343). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Cross (201 9th Ave N, Hopkins, MN 55343). A procession was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Cemetery Will Depart Church. A graveside service was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery (7601 34th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55450).
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to any of the following charities: Toys for Tots, Questscope, Reach and Restore, and Cristo Rey Jesuit High School Minneapolis.
