He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Helgen and Otelia Helgen (Stumley); and his sisters, Esther, Margaret Moilien and Beatrice Thompson (Connie).
He is survived by: his wife Constance Fingarson; his sons, Howard (Kari), Steve (Beth), John (Robin) and Phil (Kim); his grandchildren, Katherine, Kristofer (Lauren), Sarah, Michael (Jessica), Anna (Kurt), Ilse, Matthew, Emma and Laura (Austin); his great grandchildren, Daniel, Ethan, Berney and Luke; and his nieces and nephews, Sylvia Cullom, John Moilien, Peg Moilien, Barb Moilien and Andrea Thompson.
