She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Tolsma and Hilda Tolsma (Post); her husband Cornelius Vanderploeg; her siblings, Andrew Tolsma and Bertha Groeneweg; her son-in-law Dean Slegh; and her great grandchild Bailey Dee Slegh.

She is survived by: her children, Larry Vanderploeg (Lois) and Marilyn Zimmerman (Rod); her grandchildren, Audrey Bille (Dewey), Rachelle Buwalda (Mark), Conley Vanderploeg (Erin), Stacy Schaver (Eric), Chad Slegh (Janeen), Cory Slegh (Keri), Carey Slegh (Peggy) and Candace Buchholz (T. J.); her sisters, Gertrude Dykstra and Mary Koldenhoven; and her sister-in-law Winnie Meelker. She is also survived by 25 great grandchildren.
