He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Winter and Florence Winter (Gades); his brothers, Jim and Larry; and his niece Laura.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy Will; his children, Christopher (Heather) of Hoffman and Jeanne Marts (Bruce) of Hoffman; his grandchildren, Christopher Jr., Carson, Cheyann, Nolan, Aurora and Melody; his aunts, Lydia Peterson and Janice Gades; his great-niece Amanda Dahmes; and his close friend Jerome Hanson.
