He was predeceased by: his parents, Don Cabak and Lucille Cabak; his sister Karen Joy Cabak; and his great-nephew Mason Bork. He is survived by: his sons, Doug Cabak (Chelsie) and Kris Cabak (Suzie); his grandchildren, Sylvia, Rayna and Drake; and his siblings, Danny Cabak (Bonnie), Paul Cabak (Deanna), Kurt Cabak (Cheri), Donna Sahlen (Rob), Bart Cabak (Cheryl) and Ted Cabak (Denise). He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and friends.

“On behalf of the Hinckley class of 1968, I want to extend our condolences to Steve's family and friends. We have many great memories of Steve, and his passing leaves a hole in our ranks. I remember Steve letting a rabbit loose in our third-grade class and the chaos that resulted. My horrified mom arrived for a visit just in time to see the teacher and other classmates chasing Steve, who was chasing the rabbit, who left a trail of pellets in its wake. Steve, you are missed. Cheri Merritt”
