He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Peterson and Elaine Peterson (Chavie); his siblings, Annette Engel, Jane Starch and John Peterson; his brothers-in-law, Tim Meyer, Dave Meyer and Dean Burow; and his nephew Jason Meyer.

He is survived by: his grandchildren, Taylor (Levi), Logan, Kenadee, Greyson, Gwen, Greta, Zoey and Brock; his wife Beatrice Peterson; his children, Susan Marcott (Shawn), Troy Peterson (Autumn) and Robert Peterson (Jessica); his siblings, Steve Peterson, Fred Peterson (Becky), Mark Peterson, Scott Peterson (Jean), Joyce Rauk (Vince), Cindy Meyer, Julie Greseth (Ray), Eileen Germundson (Scott), Laura Haugen (Bryan) and Peggy Burow; his aunts, Lorraine Walters (Chavie), Marian McHugo (Chavie) and Elaine Chavie (Bauer); and his siblings-in-law, Bruce Hogy (Bev), Scott Hogy (Debbie), JulieAnn Hogy (Jon) and Karen Overby (Kevin). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
