He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Elbert and Gladys Elbert (Heisig); his sisters, Dorothy Schulenberger and Jean Klemp; and his brother-in-law Glenn Serck.
He is survived by: his wife Dolores Serck; and his children, Cheryl Shelton (Dennis) of Spencer, Gail Eulberg (Fred) of Dell Rapids, Tami Sonne (Brian) of Mt. Vernon, Denise Elbert (Stephen Bell) of Gillette, Joel Elbert (Andreanna) of Gillette and Tim Elbert of Luverne, Minnesota. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
