He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornie Tilstra and Fannie Tilstra (Hommes); his former wife Evelyn Fikse; his brothers, Fred Tilstra (Anna), Gerhard Fikse (Bernadine), John Tilstra, Raymond Tilstra, Arvin Tilstra and Cornie Tilstra; his siblings-in-law, Don Hoogeveen and Lucille Boeskool; and his nephew Wayne Tilstra.
He is survived by: his wife Bernice of Hills, Minnesota; his children, Brenda Ledeboer (Delton) of Fountain, Colorado and Arlyn Tilstra (Melanie) of Hills, Minnesota; his grandchildren, Jeremy Ledeboer (Sarah), Shanna Top (Ryan Danforth), Cassi Millsap (Ryan) and Cory Tilstra (Bethany); his great grandchildren, Lily, Laney Top, Maze, Zane Millsap, Mason Ledeboer, Emma and Abby Tilstra; his sister Inez Hoogeveen; and his sisters-in-law, Ann Tilstra, Cena Mae Tilstra, Joan Tilstra, Elaine Steensma (Andy) and Lois Fikse. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
