He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas McKinlay and Joan McKinlay; his brother Brian; his parents-in-law, Carol and Duane Johnson; and his sister-in-law Vicki Jensen (Randy).
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen McKinlay; his son Shane; his brothers, Thomas McKinlay (Diana) and James McKinlay (Debbie); and his parents-in-law, Sue Kolinski (Jim), Debbie Johnson, Brad Johnson (Carol) and Bryan Johnson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
