William Hugo Pietila Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of William Hugo Pietila of Hibbing, Minnesota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 10, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Pietila and Emily Pietila (Narva); his sister Eleanor; his brother-in-law Jim Olson; and his nephew Danny Olson.
He is survived by: his wife Lloydine Stanaway; his sons, William Pietila of Hibbing, James Pietila of Grand Rapids, MN and Edward Pietila of Hibbing; his sister Esther Olson of San Antonio, TX; his daughter-in-law Bonnie Furin of Hibbing; his granddaughters, Nicole Maki (James) and Danya Pietila; and his great grandchildren, Kaiden Pietila and Cullan Maki. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church (501 E 23rd St, Hibbing, MN 55746). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Hibbing Park - Maple Hill (3674 Maple Hill Rd, Hibbing, MN 55746).
