She was predeceased by: her husband Lauri Paloranta; her son Allan Paloranta; her parents, Jacob Hakala and Sandra Hakala; and her sister Vienna Lataola.

She is survived by: her son Duane (Mary Jo); and her grandchildren, Stephanie Lake, Stacy Boone, Dustin Paloranta, Amy Paloranta and Jeff Paloranta.
