He was predeceased by: his parents, Sverre Gunvalson and Anna Gunvalson (Mickelson); his wife Genevieve Skogstad; and his siblings, Joe, Ernie, Vic, Harris, Vernon 'Toby', Ervin and Doris Burns.
He is survived by: his children, James (Janet) of Woodbury and Beverly Alsleben (Thomas) of Woodbury; his grandchildren, Kristen Butler (Ryan) of Woodbury, Scott Alsleben (Ellen Palmer) of Minneapolis, Ryan Gunvalson (Jeanne) of Woodbury and Leah Nelson of Colorado; and his great grandchildren, Declan, Claire, Braeden Butler, Walter Alsleben, Lillian Palmer, Noelle, Bennett, Nora Gunvalson, Reece, Lincoln and Emery Nelson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Trinity Cemetery Fund.
