He was predeceased by: his parents, Seffrie Niemi and Jessie Niemi (Cockman). He is survived by: his brother Byron Niemi (Rita) of Hibbing; his nieces, Raina Copenhaver (Rich) of Missouri and Carie Maki of Hibbing; and also, Foster, Bob Paulson of Swan River, MN and Tommy Porter of Duluth, MN.
