He was predeceased by: his father Patrick Hanke; and his brother Guy Sobey. He is survived by: his children, Angela Sobey of Minneapolis, MN, Darryl Sobey and Trena Erickson; his mother Rosalie Rutherford of Marble, MN; his siblings, Theresa Sobey of Bovey, MN, Pamela Sobey, Christopher Melius (Amy), Bart Melius, Jessica Rutherford, Matthew Rutherford and Rebecca Rutherford; and his stepfather Dean Rutherford. He is also survived by five grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
