He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Engelstad and Pearl Engelstad (Olbeckson); his wife June Patricia Angellar; his children, John, Marie, Barbara Jo and Buddy; and his siblings, Pete, Charles, Sam, Russ, Stub, Leland and Mae.
He is survived by: his sons, Joe Skerjance (Nancy), Ronald Engelstad (Shirley) and Bill Engelstad (Gina); and his sister-in-law Janice Engelstad. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
