She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Halvorson and Gena Halvorson; and her brothers, Harvey, Allen, Kenny, Curtis and Luverne.

She is survived by: her husband DuWayne A. Olson; her daughters, Pam Branshaw (Bob) of Chippewa Falls, WI, Becky Tromp (Jeff) of Hibbing, MN and Deb Day (Chuck) of Andover, MN; and her grandchildren, Nic Branshaw (Jen), Patrick Branshaw, Nathan Tromp, Lauren Olsen (Josh), Emily Tromp, Mitch Day (Katie), Tony Day (Amanda), Sam Day (Meredith) and Peter Day (Blanche). She is also survived by her twelve great-grandchildren.

The kids viewed you and Carol as adopted next-door grandparents and have such fond memories of time spent with both of you. We wish we could make the service tomorrow, but I am afraid we have been hit by a later storm blizzard and are snowed in. Sending our love and prayers for peace, Birkmaier Family”
