He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Sunsdahl and Gertie Sunsdahl (Bjornaraa); his children, Ricky and Valerie; and his brothers, Hubert Sunsdahl (Lila), Virgil "Bud" Sunsdahl (JoAnn), George "Mick" Sunsdahl, Roy Sunsdahl, Floyd Sunsdahl (Vivian) and Obert Sunsdahl.
He is survived by: his wife Sharyl Hesse; his children, Shelly Nelson (Tom) of Baudette, MN, Richard Sunsdahl (Carla) of Badger, MN and Roy Sunsdahl (Mary) of Salol, MN; his grandchildren, Garrett Nelson, Whitney Nelson, Garrett Anhorn, Brody Anhorn, Logan Sunsdahl, Shanda Christofferson and Cory Christofferson; his pet Sal; his sisters, Emma Kapla of Hibbing, MN and Janice Haugen (Orrin) of Duluth, MN; and his sister-in-law Sandy Sunsdahl. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
