He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Luitjens and Mattie Luitjens (Folkers); his wife Donna Mae Rademacher; his son Dennis; and his siblings, Harold, Howard and Verena.

He is survived by: his sons, Ron (Mary) of Brewster and Tim (Audrey) of Brewster; his grandchildren, Neal (Rebecca), Curt (Kay), Evangeline (JR), Stacy, Jennifer (Steve) and Kyle (Megan); and his great grandchildren, Nickolas, Alexandra (Clay), Brittany, Tyler, Kelly, Travis, Emma, Jayden, Lacey, Jacob and Katelynn.
