He was predeceased by: his parents, William Mathias and Leona Mathias (Rostomily); his wife Karen Hochstein; and his siblings, Clayton, John, Helen Freking and Maxine Winkler.
He is survived by: his children, Larry Mathias (Rhett Merrill) of Palm Springs, CA, Diane Doherty (Brad) of Heron Lake, Lois Eigenberg (Bryan) of Windom and David Mathias (Devara) of Pasadena, CA; his grandchildren, Becky (Tami), Jessie (Ann), Christina (Elgin), Jenny (Emilio), Dustin (Sara), Darci (Derek), Amber (Jessy), David and Natalia; and his great grandchildren, Keaton, Ariyah, Emmett, Tirius, Kalel, Kaeja, Dawson, Reese, Harper and Brayden. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
