It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Louise Hammerstrom of Hermantown, Minnesota, born in Biwabik, Minnesota, who passed away on September 21, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Nestor Pietila and Ruth Pietila (Clements); and her in-laws, Frank and Marie Hammerstrom. She is survived by: her husband Howard Hammerstrom; her children, Mark Hammerstrom (Justy), Gary Hammerstrom and Kathy Nelson (Brent); her grandchildren, Westin Hammerstrom, Alexandra Commers (Andrew), Christina Hammerstrom, Daniel Hammerstrom, Benjamin Nelson (Madeline) and Ruth Nelson; her great grandchild Sophia Commers; and her sister Karen Pietila.
