He was predeceased by: his wife Harriet; his parents, James McDonnell and Frances McDonnell; and his siblings, Pat and John "Jack".
He is survived by: his children, Jim McDonnell (Debbie), Kathy Barry (Jim), Janine Ternes (Jerry), Mike McDonnell (Jackie) and Colleen Seafolk; his grandchildren, Jeremy (Kriston), Jeff (Tracy), Amy (Sawyer), Kimmy (Matt), Zach, Makayla (Aaron) and Miranda; his stepgrandchildren, Tom (Sam), Corey, Nick and Julia; his great grandchildren, Ava and Landon; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Riley, Alyssa, Mason, Emily, Taylor, Trevor, Megan, Will, Mariella and Gavin; and his sister-in-law Shirley. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and close friends.
