She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Fred Pietrowski and Antonia Pietrowski (Braier); her husband Norton Hjelle of Barrett, MN; her son-in-law Kyle Smalley; her children, Loren (Denise), Terry Smalley, Tim (Anne), Mary Black (Mark) and Karen Pettyjohn (Wayne); her grandchildren, Molly Hjelle, Jesse, Carmen Smalley, Dusty (Debbie), David (Anna), John, Caleb (Regan), Andy Hjelle, Nicole (Jon Bolme) and Erin Pettyjohn; and her sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Johnson (late Ward) and Roberta 'Bunny' Redenbaugh (late Bill). She was also cherished by 5 great-grandchildren.
