She was predeceased by: her brother Harlan Stein. She is survived by: her husband Herman; her sister Sharyn Effress Pessess; her children, Joy Markowitz (Rick Eisen) of Takoma Park, MD, Lauri Markowitz (Nathan Shaffer) of Atlanta, GA and Diane Markowitz (Mark Reaman) of Crested Butte, CO; and her grandchildren, Elana Eisen-Markowitz (Amanda Torres), Jack Eisen-Markowitz (Nora Toiv), Rachel Shaffer, Jeremy Shaffer, Ben Reaman and Sam Reaman. She is also survived by many nieces, great nieces, nephews; and 1 great grandchild.
