It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Russel M. Smith (Hendricks, Minnesota), who passed away on November 21, 2019, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Foster Smith and Hilda Smith (Moe); his wife Ginny Thompson (Virginia); his siblings, Clare, Louis and Helen Sventek; and his son-in-law Fevzi Aydin.
He is survived by: his children, Rebecca Christianson (Brent) of Northfield, MN, Kathleen Aydin (Scott Wallace) of Hendricks, Brian Smith (Tia) of Lakeville, MN, David Smith (Nancy) of Rapid City, SD and Noel Smith (Heather Douglas) of Orangeburg, NY; his grandchildren, Sasha, Jordan, Johanna, Leah, Elisabeth, Kyle and Senja; and his great grandchildren, Silas, Owen and Emilia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are preferred to the Hendricks Community Foundation or Good Shepherd Hospice, both of Hendricks, MN.
