It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mavis J. Kirkvold of Hendricks, Minnesota, who passed away on February 6, 2025, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mavis J. Kirkvold to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her husband Kermit S. Kirkvold; her daughter JoAnn; her parents, Melvin Nelson and Cora Nelson (Christianson); and her siblings, Oriette Dahl, Virgil, Maurice and Wilfred Nelson.
She is survived by: her sister Phyllis; her children, Brian Kirkvold (Hope), Alan Singsaas and Janet Swenson (Scott); her grandchildren, Jessica Garza-Valdez (Adam), Kait Wagner (Nolan), Kari Gale (Ryan), Britta Andrews and Eric Swenson (Danielle); and also, Janet, Alan Singsaas and Brian.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel (500 N Division St, Hendricks, MN 56136). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Faith Lutheran Brethren Church (306 S Oak St, Hendricks, MN 56136).
