She was predeceased by: her parents, LeRoy Ista and Maude Ista (Hancock); her siblings, LeRoy, Adolph (Vonnie), John, Allen (DeAnn) and Beverly Trimble (Richard); her siblings-in-law, Richard LaPlat, John Crowell, Raychel Christianson and Clarysse Atherton (Ronald); her nephew LeRoy Ista; her son-in-law Thomas Carlson; and her grandson-in-law David Kirkland.
She is survived by: her spouse John Kniess; her children, Patricia Carlson of Rochester, MN, Eugene Scott Kniess (Marie), Glenda Vizecky, Debra Homan (Neal), Tami Cooper (Tom), Maple Grove and John Kurth (Renee); her grandchildren, Jill Chao (David), Jennifer Christensen (John Adkins), Catherine Unfried (Case), Gordon Vizecky (Stephanie), Michelle Kirkland, Mark Vizecky, Quint Homan (Erin), Clint Homan, Michael Cooper (Kelsey), Rachel Cooper, David Kurth (Brittany) and Matthew Kurth; her great grandchildren, Abraham Wangnoo, Mary Claire Chao, Sara Chao (Matt Menzenski), Tahira Farmer (Royce), Zendaya Adkins, Zachary, Gage Vizecky, Autumn, Evan Kirkland, Andrew, Reid Vizecky, Czarina, Carson Unfried, Remi Homan and Callie Kurth; her great great grandchild Mason Wangnoo; her sister Marge Crowell of Napa; and her sister-in-law Lorraine Ista of Fargo, ND. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
