He was predeceased by: his parents, Vaughn Stanton and Elizabeth Stanton (Mueller); his son James; and his children-in-law, Robert Stanton (Helen), Douglas Stanton (Delores) and Mildred McGregor (Lewis).
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Murphy; his children, Ann Hoehn (Paul), Jean Frahm (Terry), Mary Hessel (Stephen), David Stanton (Kelly), Ruth Stanton and Thomas Stanton; and his daughter-in-law Debra Stanton. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
