We bid farewell to John G. Yen of Hastings, Minnesota, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 3, 2025 at the age of 83. Though John may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those John touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Hui-Yuan Yan and Elise Glaser. He is survived by: his wife Lynn Yen; his daughter Lisa Walsh (Gregory); his grandchildren, Jessica Varkonyi (Nick), Jared Walsh (Ashley) and Rachel Walsh (Dan Charleston); and his sister Ping Yen. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel (3075 Vermillion St, Hastings, MN 55033). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred in his name to the Alzheimer's Association. Keep John's legacy alive by donating to a charity in need.
