It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carl James Olsen (Hastings, Minnesota), born in River Falls, Wisconsin, who passed away on November 21, 2024, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl O. Olsen and Bertilla M. Olsen; his daughter Nyree Dawn; his parents-in-law, Leo and Lorraine Goettl; his siblings, Barbara Scott, Donna Torkelson and Robert Olsen; his nephew John Torkelson; and his brothers-in-law, Tom Segerstrom and Rick Beckman.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Colvard; his grandchildren, Aubrey of Woodbury, MN, Samuel, Benjamin, Evelyn and Arie of Cross Plains, WI.; his sons, Eric (Erin) and Jared (Sarah); and his siblings, Linda Beckman of Balsam Lake, WI., Lorene Segerstrom of Yuma, AZ, Mary Velarde (Edy) of River Falls, WI and Gene Olsen (Diane) of Cottage Grove, MN.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the True North Ranch (12407 80th St S, Hastings, MN 55033).
The family wants to give a big, Thank You, to the Silver Bay Veterans Home for all the patience and wonderful, loving care they had given Carl with his battle with Alzheimer's.
