Though Mervin may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Sears and Ardith Knoll; his stepfather Abner Holt; and his siblings, Joyce Hoff (Dick), Mildred Simes (Jerry) and Jack Sears.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Sears; and his sons, Todd (Bobbi) of Rochester, MN and Terry (Nita) of Kasson, MN. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 28th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at 1638 Big Canoe Rd, Decorah, IA 52101. A memorial service was held on Monday, October 28th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
