He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Bjerken and Ardelle Engebretson (Johnson); and his siblings, Wayne, Phillip and Marlene Van Hecke.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Sakanya of Hanover; his stepchildren, Christopher Bjerken (Angela), Corey Bjerken (Jessa), Nora Jo Freitag (Dustin), Pervin Sakanya (Rebecca), Swana Wauna (Cecelia), Namukulwa Rought (Keith), Wana Wauna and Chinkumbi Norton (Casey); his grandchildren, Kailyn Bjerken, Mason Bjerken, Austyn Bjerken, Ayden Bjerken, Abbey Freitag, Kiah Rydl, Jesse Bjerken, Wiza Sakanya, Bernice Sakanya, Elijah Sakanya, Jeremiah Wauna, Jedidiah Rought, Amelia Rought, Maleeka Wauna and Micah Norton; his siblings, Linda Spronk (Rod), Ingrid Ingle (David), Jeanette Baune, James (Robin), Arleigh (Mary Long) and Matthew; and his brother-in-law William Van Hecke (Jean). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, several aunts and uncles and cousins.
