He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schmidgall and Elizzie Schmidgall (Metzger); his wife Vila; his grandson David; and his siblings, Ray, Kenneth, Laura, Katherine, Linda, Benjamin, William, Clara, Nola, Josephine and Norene.
He is survived by: his children, Pam Sutter (Randy) of Peoria, IL, Dan Schmidgall (Jacki) of Morris, Tom Schmidgall (Ruth) of Morris, Kayla Hoerr (Dan), Jodi Schieler (Keith) of Morris, John Schmidgall (Tiffany) of Morris and Jennifer Schmidgall of Eastvale, CA; and his siblings, Barbara Brown (Vernard) of Morris, Marilyn Lanz of Rockville, CT and Marion Schmidgall of Hancock. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren.
