He was predeceased by: his parents, William Panning and Martha Panning (Jaus); his siblings, Raymond Panning (Myra), Roland Panning, Hillard Panning, Marvin Panning (Violet), Helma Hoernemann (Karl), Norma Engelmann (Elmer), Irmgard Otto (Elmer) and Martha Smith; his sister-in-law Marlaine Panning; his parents-in-law, Hilton and Roma Wolter (Mackenthun); and his brother-in-law Roger Wolter.
He is survived by: his wife Deanna Panning; his children, Dean Panning (Karen) of Hamburg, Mark Panning (Annette) of Perham, Kari Biermann (Brian) of Hamburg and Paul Panning (Stephanie) of Hamburg; his grandchildren, Kelli Schlagel (Ben), Luke Panning (Jaime VanSloun), Joel Panning (Ellen), Carissa Bauer (Jeff Steel), William Panning (Emily), Sarah Panning (Patrick Bakken), Quintin Biermann (Meghan), Spencer Biermann, Lincoln Biermann (Natalie Prins) and Abby Swan (Jon Halaska); his great grandchildren, Ashton Schlagel, Lydia Schlagel, Easton Panning, Peyton Panning, Willy Panning, Korban Steel, Paige Panning, Tommy Panning, Briggs Biermann and Parker Biermann; his brothers, Melroy Panning, Gordon Panning (Lois) of Hamburg and Werner Panning (Evelyn) of Aitkin; and his siblings-in-law, Harvin Smith, Marilyn Bjelland, Karen Wolter of Grand Rapids, Marlow and Darlene Hecksel of Winsted. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
