He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Oelfke and Ida Oelfke; his brother Walter; and his siblings-in-law, Harlan Ische and Jeanette Oelfke.

He is survived by: his siblings, Marion Ische of Glencoe and Gerald Oelfke of Hamburg; and his nieces and nephews, Mark Ische (Maureen Lowden), Tom Ische (Nancy), Brianna Ische and Kaitlyn Fox (Ryan).
