He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Smith and Goldie Smith; his niece Sarah Haasis; and his brother-in-law Melvin Matson. He is survived by: his children, Heather Best (Roger) of Perley, MN, Robert Smith of Ada, MN and Drew Smith of Halstad, MN; his stepdaughters, Marie Andree (Wayne) and Stephanie Hein; and his siblings, Susan Matson, John Smith (Gayle), Tim Smith (Maya), Robin Hill (Al), Kelly Smith (Candice), Jason Smith (Carrie) and Chris Smith (Kim). He is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
