He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Mortenson and Myrtle Mortenson (Gustafson); his siblings, Betty Wicklund (Vernon), Marian Pearson (Donald) and Daniel Mortenson; and his siblings-in-law, Dean Severson, Helen Johnson (Ferdie), Edna Lundberg (Walter), Krogstad, Odin (Agnes), Elmer (Ethel), Alfred (Frances), Harold (Ethel), Bert and Ronald (Mabel).
He is survived by: his grandson Carey; his children, Robert Mortenson (Ilene) of Colorado Springs, CO, Nancy Johnson (Paul) of Staples, MN, Bruce Mortenson (Mary) of Kennedy, MN, Barbara Costin (Kirk) of Hallock, MN and Julie Younggren (Bryan) of Hallock, MN.; his grandchildren, Heather Mortenson, Tony Mortenson (Simone), Ryan Johnson (Kia), Nicole Johnson (Paul), Drew Mortenson (Kelly Sjoblom), Kelly Wilson (John), Justin Mortenson (Korianne), Kirsten Shimpa (Brandon), Kate Thompson (Justin), Natalie Halley (Jeremiah), Cara Peterson (Kevin), Blake Younggren (Tiffany), Britta Nordin (Luke), Aaron Younggren (Skyler) and Jesse Younggren (Sierra Karboviak); his siblings, Marcia Severson and David Mortenson; and his sister-in-law Jackie Mortenson. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
