He was predeceased by: his parents, John Laurence and Alice Marie Fertig (Garceau); his brother Larry; his wife Doris Jean Michalski; his sisters, Mona Fertig and Jeanne Olson; and his siblings-in-law, Gordon Olson, Eben Brunton, Lewis Jorgenson, Jerome Michalski, Brian Klitz, Fran Michalski, Elsie Klitz and Marlene Jorgenson.
He is survived by: his children, Stephanie Fournier (Donald) and Larry Fertig (Deb); his grandchildren, Alicia, Dylan and Christian Fournier; his great grandchild Leena Fournier; his sister Theolyn Brunton; and his siblings-in-law, Jackie Michalski, Vicki Flanders, Mary Burke, Lillian Case, Dean Flanders and Ken Mitchell.
