He was predeceased by: his parents, LaGrant Velde and Beatrice Velde (Pederson); his sister Muriel Hannum; and his brother-in-law Roger Hickman. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Gustafson of Granite Falls; his children, Jacqueline Ettesvold (Jeffry) of Granite Falls, Megan Braith (Jacob) of Alexandria, VA, Laura Munsterman (Jacob) of Granite Falls and Luke Velde (Erin) of Granite Falls; his stepdaughter Jennifer Guertin of Windom, MN; his grandchildren, Decker, Lainey, Elin Ettesvold, Elliott, Isaac, Alice Braith, Adalynn, Savana Munsterman, Kara Velde, Jacob Guertin (Sydney Larsen) and Victoria Patterson (Tyler); his great grandchild Lincoln Patterson; his sisters, Connie Hickman and Patricia Pederson; and his brother-in-law Fred Hannum. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family.
