With profound sadness, we say goodbye to David Velde of Granite Falls, Minnesota, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. David left this world on March 1, 2025 at the age of 74, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family. He was predeceased by: his parents, LaGrant Velde and Beatrice Velde (Pederson); his sister Muriel Hannum; and his brother-in-law Roger Hickman. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Gustafson of Granite Falls; his children, Jacqueline Ettesvold (Jeffry) of Granite Falls, Megan Braith (Jacob) of Alexandria, VA, Laura Munsterman (Jacob) of Granite Falls and Luke Velde (Erin) of Granite Falls; his stepdaughter Jennifer Guertin of Windom, MN; his grandchildren, Decker, Lainey, Elin Ettesvold, Elliott, Isaac, Alice Braith, Adalynn, Savana Munsterman, Kara Velde, Jacob Guertin (Sydney Larsen) and Victoria Patterson (Tyler); his great grandchild Lincoln Patterson; his sisters, Connie Hickman and Patricia Pederson; and his brother-in-law Fred Hannum. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A prayer was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 at 7:30 PM at the Calendar Anderson-TeBeest and Hanson & Dahl Funeral Homes (845 US-212, Granite Falls, MN 56241). A memorial service was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Calendar Wang Lutheran Church (12781 890th Ave, Maynard, MN 56260).
