He was predeceased by: his parents, Elsie Mae Helen Gilbert (Ragsdale) and Lawrence Gilbert; and his brother James Gilbert. He is survived by: his sons, Dan and Tom Gilbert; his grandchildren, Noah and Madison Gilbert; and his siblings, Donny Gilbert (Debbie), Darlene Hietala (John), Dennis Gilbert (Katie), Lila Gilbert, Karline Muzzy (Mike) and Paul Gilbert (Susie).
