He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia; his parents, Cleo Borchert and Roland Borchert; and his siblings, Dave, Helen, Chuck, Ed, Alyce, Bette John, Tom and Joe.
He is survived by: his siblings, Neva, Peg, Bill and Jerry; his daughters, Mary Carr of Duluth, MN, Kathleen Mickelsen (Randall) of Burnsville, MN and Patricia Borchert-Strouse (Joseph) of Birchdale, MN; his grandchildren, Joseph Carr (Natalie), Clair Skelly (Shane), Betsy Kallevig (Bryan), Alex Mickelsen, Casey Norby (Christopher) and Gregory Mickelsen; and his great grandchildren, Weston, Kylie, Tyler, Daxon, Dominic, Emma, Tucker, Lumen and Theo.
