He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Shumaker (Kuhlman) and Herbert Shumaker (Spike); and his brother Dan Thorson. He is survived by: his children, Julie Hurd (Alan) and Cody Shumaker (Marguerite); his grandchildren, Nate, Nick, Sully Hurd and Delphie Shumaker; and his siblings, Deb Schmidt, Karen Ilten, Kathryn Bode and Alton Shumaker.
