He was predeceased by: his parents, Lois Rae Coy (McAtee) and Doulas Joseph Coy; and his brother Peter Andrew Coy. He is survived by: his siblings, Mary Coy of Grand Rapids, Arthur Coy (Deb) of Esko, Paul Coy (Helen Kumhera) of Ham Lake and Elizabeth Coy (Mark Leonard) of Eugene, Oregon; and his sister-in-law Penny Burds Coy of Glendale Heights, Illinois. He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews.
